Within the “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project implemented by the National Council for Women (NCW) in partnership with the European Union (EU), NCW conducted a financial literacy training, in the village of Kafr Shobra Elyeman, Gharbia governorate, capitalizing on the "Rational Dealing with My Money" programme,  during the period from July 30 to August 3, 2023.

    The training aimed to educate women about the financial and economic matters required in their daily lives, which would also support them in establishing small and micro projects. The training also included many important topics, such as increasing the capacities of women, enhancing their skills, and developing their entrepreneurial personality traits through financial awareness activities that helps them set goals, prioritize expenditures, ways of saving and its importance, dealing with financial institutions, and preparing and following up small-scale budgets.

     On the sidelines of the training, the awareness program on the dangers of irregular migration and the definition of its safe positive alternatives was implemented on July 30 and 31, 2023 within the framework of the joint cooperation between the National Council for Women (NCW) and the Ministry of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs within the AEDIM project, where the program relies on interactive participation, questions and dialogue to highlight the importance of women's role in spreading awareness of the dangers of irregular migration and its implications, in addition to introducing the importance of vocational and entrepreneurship trainings as safe positive alternatives.

       The NCW also implemented a storytelling session with the Egyptian author Samah Abobakr Ezzat, with the aim of instilling positive values in children, by highlighting the importance of self-discovery and skills development, the importance of saving and balancing their expenses, and clarifying the differences between needs and desires. This session included an introduction of the definition of irregular migration, a discussion of its harms and motives, and opened a discussion on different ways of saving to meet their needs and achieve their dreams.
